Chuck Anderson

Co-Founder and Principal Consultant

Chuck is the co-founder of Living to Thrive and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Diploma of Positive Psychology and Well-Being, Psychological Safety Masterclass Certificate, Diploma of Risk Management and a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course certificate. Over the last 22 years, he has worked across multiple sectors and industries, both in Australia and overseas, where he gained a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge.

In 2013, Chuck dealt with a year-long undiagnosable illness that severely impacted his mental health. While exploring evidence-based tools and resources to help manage his own mental health, he decided to shift his focus to the field of psychology. It was through his hardships that he was inspired to help others going through similar psychological challenges.  

In his most recent role, he designed and delivered several strategic-level mental health and wellbeing programs and initiatives over six years. His efforts transformed organisational culture to create a safe space for the topic of mental health that did not previously exist. Much of his success was driven by authentically sharing his journey on the challenges and successes of living with mental illness. His message of support to others is delivered through authenticity, empathy and compassion.  

Chuck has volunteered as a Big Brother under the "Big Brother Big Sister" national program, mentored for LGBTQIA+ adults and LGBTQIA+ youth, was an activist and leader for same-sex marriage and continues to push for equal rights and inclusivity for all. He recently created an online mental health community group where he leads discussions on mental health and wellbeing.
